FROM AGRICULTURAL BY-PRODUCTS TO ECONOMIC VALUE, CARBON REMOVAL AND GREEN FINANCE
This year, Mekong Biochar Initiative , ESG Education & Business is focusing strongly on three closely related areas: Agriculture – Circular Economy – Green Finance .
We are particularly interested in developing business and investment models that are practical, scalable, and, most importantly, generate both measurable economic value and environmental impact .
One of the key areas we are focusing on developing is biochar .
Recently, ESG Education & Business participated in advising and supporting the development of a large-scale project to produce biochar from rice husks in Tien Giang, Vietnam, under the Mekong Biochar Initiative .
Developed and led by ESG Education & Business, the project aims to become the largest rice husk biochar production plant in Vietnam in Phase 1 and the largest in Asia in Phase 2 .

Through this project and many other practical activities, we have accumulated experience in various areas related to Biochar, including project development, selection and application of production technologies, financial modeling, investment feasibility assessment, value chain development, and the development of international carbon credits for Biochar .
Based on that practical experience, ESG Education & Business is currently developing a specialized investment platform called #CarbonGreen with partners , aiming to transform agricultural by-products and biomass waste into biochar and value-added products , while also creating additional value through carbon removal and the carbon credit market .
The #CarbonGreen model focuses on a very real problem.
In Vietnam and many Southeast Asian countries, a huge amount of agricultural by-products and biomass is generated each year. Some are used as raw materials, but a significant amount is still burned, decomposed, or processed in ways that do not generate high economic value and may contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.
We believe that instead of viewing these raw materials simply as “waste,” they can become resources for the circular economy .

Through #CarbonGreen, we aim to collaborate with businesses, agricultural companies, and entities with large sources of by-products by providing or mobilizing investment capital, technology, and equipment for biochar production , thereby jointly developing economically and environmentally viable projects.
Potential raw material sources may include:Rice husks,
coffee husks, coconut shells, sugarcane bagasse, cashew shells, sawdust, and many other agricultural by-products and biomass.
We believe that Vietnam has enormous potential to build a scalable biochar and carbon removal industry, thanks to its developed agriculture, abundant biomass resources, and the growing demand for circular economy solutions, regenerative agriculture, climate finance, and carbon removal .
Biochar has the potential to create multiple layers of value simultaneously.
This involves the ability to transform agricultural by-products and waste into valuable products , supporting soil remediation and restoration, improving soil quality, increasing nutrient and water retention capacity, supporting soil ecosystems, and potentially contributing to reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers in some agricultural models.
More importantly, when properly managed and utilized, biochar can store carbon for extended periods, thereby creating the potential for developing high-quality carbon removal and carbon credit projects .
What we aim for is not just building a single biochar plant.
The long-term goal is to develop a scalable investment model that connects:
Agricultural by-products → Technology → Investment capital → Biochar production → Regenerative agriculture → Carbon removal → Carbon market
Through this model, we expect to simultaneously create value for agricultural businesses, investors, farmers, the environment, and local communities .
Currently, ESG Education & Business is seeking opportunities to connect with strategic investors, banks, financial institutions, venture capital funds, impact investment funds, and project development partners to explore opportunities for expanding this model.
We aim to gradually build a portfolio of Biochar and Carbon Removal projects in Vietnam, while also looking to expand into other potential markets in Southeast Asia.
If your organization is interested in this field, I would be happy to connect and share more about the business model, investment structure, pipeline of potential projects, and development vision for #CarbonGreen and the Mekong Biochar Initiative .
I believe we are facing a remarkable opportunity to build a new model connecting Agriculture – Biomass By-products – Technology – Investment Capital – Biochar – Carbon Removal – Carbon Market .
This isn’t just a story about emissions reduction or carbon credits.
It’s also a story about how we can transform waste into resources, by-products into value, carbon into a new asset, and create a business model that is both profitable and has a positive impact on the environment and society .
If you or your organization are interested in Biochar, Carbon Removal, Circular Economy, Green Finance, Climate Finance, or Regenerative Agriculture , I would love to connect and discuss potential collaboration opportunities.
